Hello. I have a problem with product indexing in my WooCommerce store. The issue is that for many product keywords, different pages (products) are ranking in search results. For example, when searching for PRODUCT-1 on Google, a different product (page) PRODUCT-2 is displayed. This likely happens because PRODUCT-1 is shown at the bottom of the PRODUCT-2 page under 'related products.' The content (description) of PRODUCT-1 is definitely not the issue, as it has been modified without any results. All products are indexed. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or has any ideas about what might be causing this?

You need check for any content duplication and whether XML sitemap includes all products.
 
Usually the page actually displayed in the results is considered more relevant by the search engines.

It can happen for various reasons for like content, backlinks, internal links for example.
  • Does PRODUCT-2 page has more backlinks pointing to it for example?
  • Does it have more internal links?
  • Do they compete for the same keywords?
 
Check your robots.txt file and noindex tags are correctly configured, implement proper canonicalization, if it is not already, optimize site architecture for easier crawling, and use structured data markup to provide search engines with detailed product information.

Yes, I do accept this could be due to Internal Linking if that is set already check on the schema markup that each product has a distinct structured data.
 
What worked for me was ensuring each product page has a self-referencing canonical tag, telling Google which page to prioritize. Avoid overloading product pages with too many internal links and keep related products minimal.

It is not indexing issue, it is ranking issue then
 
I suggest add self-referencing canonical tags to each product page for Google prioritization. Limit internal links and keep related products minimal to avoid overwhelming product pages.
 
check for duplicate content , AI generated content, Keyword cannibalization issue
 
Ensure your most important pages are easily accessible from the homepage and have fewer clicks from the homepage. Reduce or remove low-value pages that consume crawl budget, such as thin content pages or outdated content. Moreover, you need to promote your new content on social media platforms to drive traffic and encourage search engines to crawl and index your pages.
