Duplicate wordpress ?

Sorry for asking such a jerk question here , but I don't know what to do .

I would like to make my own blogging platform with wordpress . I don't know how to do and I would like to release it to the public for free . So , If I make a blogging platform with using some scripts used on wordpress WITHOUT GIVING them credits , will i be in the jail ?

Mate if you use other people's work, then at least give them credit. WordPress can be modified with plugins and themes, so I don't see any need to make a new CMS and use their scripts?

Copying wordpress without credits and developing similar blogging platform to WordPress are two different things. I guess you already know the answer to your question.
