Duplicate Domain Name

Sounds like a "noob" question but i figure this is the best place to ask.

Targetting a niche and im just picking out a domain. I've found an unber cool one:

"www.keywordsecrets.com"

But i just checked on google and this one is on page 1:

"www.keywordsecret.com"

If i were to go with the "secrets" version would i be less likely to get a high ranking? Because domain names are so similiar...

IMO - You could do quite well with this domain name. You may even be able to beat that number one spot?

Haha mate. Im not giving away my niche so i added "keyword" intstead of actual name.

Just wondering if i can still compete for something where there's another site with ALMOST the same domain name as mine.
