Duplicate Content = Syndication Works!

I've read tons of people over the years swearing dup content doesn't work and technically it doesn't! BUT! Remember, news sites are just duplicate rehashed content!

There are times where it works and times it doesn't just like how autoblogging with spun content works. Depends on the project if it's serious one I would never take that risk.

Little people don't get away with it.
Just like we wouldn't get away with manipulating crypto like Elon.

Different rules for different groups.

I have shown this by multiple ways. Dupe content is a lottery and as @rabbitking has said, reputation is the real "metric" that Google uses to evaluate the authenticity

The only problem here are the DCMA requests. If you spend plenty of money duping and linkbuilding, and you get a DCMA request you will out of the business.
Obviously, you could "rehash" the content as you say, but be aware of fair use and all that. Spinners have always worked, but many users have found that spinning and solving issues are worse than hiring low quality writters that write poor content, but at least, coherent.

But I agree that if you plan to go with an ultra long-tail 20K pages BH strategy, spinning is the way to go, although I would spin my content just for certain keyword correlated variations (with a dictionary). Still trying to outrank competition by copying leaves a big footprint subject to a DCMA request.
