Hello!
I had a question regarding duplicate content. Let's say I have a Facebook page that I regularly post articles on. I'm now considering creating a blog that will re-post these articles, word for word.

Is copying content from a Facebook post and making a Blog post from it considered duplicate content?

Sorry if this is a stupid question!
Thank you!

I do similar things to this - but in reverse...

I have a lot of news-feed auto-mini-blogs which sit on a sub-domain of the main site i.e.

news.mainsite.com

...and these auto-publish daily small articles/snippets etc which link into the main site. I then use the RSS feed to publish them to facebook and twitter. It certainly helps with indexing and social signals. It seems to give a small ranking boost, but it may just be that all those social signals help get eveything more 'noticed'.

Never had any issues with dupe content, although my original posts are 'original'.. not scraped/copied content.

I guess, this wont be considered as duplicated content... instead, articles on your blog can get social signals....

Yes...This is content duplication (duplicate content) I'm amazed at the above replies. Please use google to confirm what I've said, before you hurt yourself and company! omg.

What you can do is post an excerpt of your content, 50 words or so. Many social platforms, such as digg use the no-index tag because of the content duplication problems. That's like saying if I had 300 website's all having the exact same content on every page, that it wouldn't be duplicate content, because it's on a different url/site. This doesn't even make sense. Or does it?

let me know if you have further questions.

You should post on your money sites first, and SHARE on facebook page last

Dont worry about it, its not dupe content.

Look at Press Release sites, and also what this guy is doing.

No you won't get penalized for duplicate content as facebook posts are not indexed by google. But your posts will get indexed. Hence = no.
