Duplicate content on product description pages

Hi,

I have product descriptions that are the same as on some other online stores. Do search engines index links with duplicate content. How such duplicate content impacts on my seo activity. Is it possible to rank high sites with no unique product description. I will try to rewrite product descriptions in future . But now I want to start with the descriptions I have.

Duplicate content is very BAD! PERIOD! Rewrite your decriptions...

One of the largest mistakes eCommerce websites make is not having enough content.
Make sure each product description is of decent word count and unique.

Unique Content Good for SEO. So always use unique content.

I use textbroker.com and just have people re-write descriptions. It works pretty well.

If you doing duplicate content on your site you not get the Good rankings
Mainly you banned!

I manage an ecommerce site. If you think that you cannot write unique descriptions then focus on your unique content for the product pages. Google will select the best snippet (description) for your product pages. You eliminate duplication and not having to write a single description anymore.

Try to get rid of duplicate contents. If you can't now then you can spun your content by any content spinner tools and you can use it

you don't write copied content it will degrade your page ranking and also you try to make a unique description of your product and try to promote in different way..

Duplicate content will NOT get you banned.
Duplicate content will not prevent you from being indexed by search engines.
Duplicate content WILL cause your rankings to suffer.
If your plan is to get non-organic search engine traffic to your site, then you will be fine.
Use whatever works, to sell your products or to get NATURAL ad clicks, if your goal is to migrate traffic from forums, twitter, Yahoo Answers, etc...
Use unique content, if your goal is to migrate traffic from major search engines.

Duplicate content is not good for the website seo, since Google does not want to show the same content to the searchers for the same questions or query. Hence duplicate content will effect the page ranking and it also causes low web traffic.

Google always like unique content.The duplicate content is the bad for websites.so try to create unique content.
If you create site you can use the siteliner to indentify duplicated content.also use penguin site to identify the thin content issues.
the copyscape is used to check the words.

There is an healthy competition in eCommerce, try not to use duplicate content for not even one product. Simply hire a content writer or use spin bot.

Your site will go downhill as a SEO wise from month 1 if you only use duplicate descriptions... If you don't or can't rewrite the description then at least add some unique content like reviews etc... Unique content with the duplicate content still works and the pages rank fine.

If you can write then make it a 100% unique content.
