Duplicate content idea?

don’t straight up copy/paste it 1:1, slightly rewrite it.

No, you should post only unique article. As quality of article matters a lot nowadays.

Is it ok to post an article on the blog of my website and then a week or so later post the same article as a blog post or a PR article on a news website, linking back to my own website?
this is not new to me. i have done this with similar content in the past. this time around while doing the second site i do not copy nd paste the same introducttion, examples nd point of view that i have used in the first site.

Yeah I wouldn't post the exact same article twice. Just rewrite it with a different angle and link back to the original.

Avoid posting the same article again it seems safer to post a rewritten one with a different angle and a natural link back

It is better to avoid posting the exact same article word-for-word. Repurposing or writing a rewritten version for the PR with a slightly different angle and linking back to your original blog post works much better and avoids potential duplicate content issues.

nope!

Although... if the article is long (let's say 3000+ words), you can extract the newsworthy part from it (say the 500-1000 most newsworthy content) to use as PR, I've seen this thing being done in the past and it worked, because the PR brings the people back to your page where they can read the full story.

@tazarbm, it should have been extract and reword but I would say great recommendation.

that's not a redirect, it's a normal backlink (and a good one too if the PR gets published on quality news sites).

And yes, you link back to the article on your site, that's the whole point of PR: bring people to your site via the PR links :)
You've basically described the mechanism behind Medium and other big news-letter websites.

This is possible but publishing the exact same article on another website is not ideal. A better approach is to publish the original article on your own website and then create a unique version for the news PR website adding a natural link to your website where relevant.

This helps reduce the risk of duplicate content and makes the backlink look more natural.

Its vice versa according to me, ok to rewrite and expand the new site version rather than not following the same article.

It's not recommended to post the exact same blog, as it will definitely attract attention and you won't get much value.

I wouldn’t publish the exact same article. Rewrite it for the news site with a different angle and link back to the original article on your site.

I wouldn't post the exact same article. I'd use the original as the base and rewrite it for the news/PR site, with a different angle and structure.

That way you can still link back to the original without having two pages that are basically identical.

Yeah, it’s generally fine. I’d just avoid publishing the exact same article word-for-word. Rewrite it for the news/PR site, add some unique information, and link back to the original article on your website. That way it looks more natural and is better for SEO.

Of course you can. But why? If, after a week, the site where you publish it is more authoritative and gets more traffic than your own website, there is a chance that Google will consider the article published on your own site to be non-unique, even though it was published there first. So, honestly, I wouldn’t recommend doing that.

Don’t copy paste it 1 on 1, run it through an AI model and slightly rewrite a bit manually as well. Straight copy pasting content has an opposite effect.
