Duplicate content from product feeds is earning me $100 a month

Hello all!

I've been reading stuff from this forum for so long I thought id leave my first post! :)

So I created a website using php about 9 months ago which uses data feeds from affiliates and displays text/product image/price/shipping etc... for the last 7 months it has been earning me around $100 a month without me doing anything.

I haven't done any seo to the site and there is hardly any text apart from the data feeds (i've kind of left it on auto pilot as this was just something I created in my spare time!).

It seems after checking that quite a lot of the products from the data feeds that I searched for are ranked on 1st page of google... Is this normal for duplicate content from the data feeds to rank so high?

are you talking about amazon. or other affiliate network?
 
Haven't used amazon for this site, its mainly using affiliate window.

I think that's great you are earning $100 per month by using affiliate data feeds to you website. Just do some more work hope you could get more than $100
 
Use the passive income to pay for hosting and scale your biz up!

Of course it`s normal. I know a few guys who make 7k+ each month form data feed sites - pure duplicate content. If you add few tweaks then you can make even more. You can even make more money from unreadable auto generated content (which is made only for search engines) if you know how to show valuable and converting content to visitors. So i laugh when someones tells you only need "quality content". It`s only how you present the content to crawlers and bots.

I fully agree with you. I made a site a couple of years ago to see if I could rank a high comp niche such as dieting. I used Google translate to translate @ 800 articles taken from some of the main competitors. I found that I ranked no1 for hundreds of KWs in my niche. I know that this is not duplicate content but it's still crap and Google seemed to like it. I even ran adsense ads on it without any problems.

Try as much as possible to start writing your contents and remove everyone's feed.

Because when google comes for you, your websites will get deindexed.
 
is luck, good job, try doing this, i want to make 100 and doing nothin :)
