    Hi guys.
I have a fairly new site on wordpress I had one of those free seo audits done on it and it came back with like 65 pages of duplicate meta tags and descriptions, no alt tags on images etc.

I could not work out why as there are only like ten pages on the site and had given each post unique descriptions, tags and given all the images alt tags.

    The seo guys replied that.

"You may have entered different descriptions and titles next to every page in your dashboard, but you have not configured your theme and Yoast SEO plugin to remove old descriptions and have these are your primary descriptions for every page.

For example, if you go to your homepage and right click anywhere and click "View Page Source", this will show you the actual code that is output to your live website.

If you search (CTRL+F) for the word "description" you will find the following meta descriptions on your homepage, there should only be one meta description but you have a few different plugins and your theme all adding meta descriptions into your site:"

I can not afford to get them to fix this I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to config wordpress so that what I imput in the dashboard shows up in the html of the page?

Does this mean every wp needs to be changed out of the box or is it just the theme I have chosen that is not doing that?

    Thanks Mike

Most likely your theme. Do you have a child theme? Are you using it now? Try using twentyfifteen just for testing purposes. Turn off all plugins except Yoast. Some themes are trickier than others to set up, that is for sure. Make sure that when you look for changes, your site cache and your browser cache are both cleared.
