Instagram seems to have recently made adjustments to their dupe content detection software, im working with a guy who has an autoposting bot for instagram and almost all of us keep getting hit with shadow bans ( more than usual ). Can anyone give me a heads up on where to look to figure out how to change our pre-existing dupe content avoidance bot so it's up to scratch/ know what they've changed?

They didn’t change one thing, they tightened similarity fingerprinting so look at caption structure and emoji patterns, posting intervals, reused Reel audio, repeated framing/crops/overlays, export metadata and overall account posting behavior. If your bot only does text spinning or pixel noise, it’s outdated

They are making it so that duplicate content is getting flagged. Just make sure to edit the videos so they are "Unique"; and that way, you can still get good exposure.

Thanks for the insight on the updated dupe content detection software. It sounds like Instagram is really cracking down on similarity fingerprinting, so I'll definitely pass on the tip to my colleague to revamp the bot's caption structure and emoji patterns. I'm curious, has anyone found a reliable way to automate the video editing process to make the content more "unique" without sacrificing too much quality or efficiency? And do you think it's worth exploring alternative methods, such as using AI-generated content or user-generated content, to further reduce the risk of getting flagged?

It has always been like that for years, you need to be aware of duped content

It looks like Instagram is tightening pattern detection, so instead of relying on automation tweaks, focus on making each post genuinely distinct (edits, timing, captions, behavior) because repeated signals are what’s triggering shadow bans now.

Nowadays, there are much stricter regulations regarding repurposed posts, so you need to edit more carefully and create more diverse content to avoid being flagged and losing reach.

Instagram is stricter with reused media now, so only clearly original videos with real variation are avoiding reach drops.

Instagram now prioritizes originality so heavily that any content showing reuse patterns gets suppressed by default.
