Hi Guys,

I want to know, for a new site, if it's not showing in the SERPs yet after 2 weeks for its main keywords, is it because it doesn't have any backlinks yet or could be another thing that needs to be looked at ?

Thanks to All

there are many factors involved buddy. take into consideration how competitive the keyword that you are trying to rank, your competitions and your back links (if its quality, indexed or just sb links).

Make sure to have your site crawled and indexed by search engines first before aspiring to dominate the SERPS through backlinking...etc. :)

The site has already been indexed over a month ago. No backlinks have been built or whatsoever. Isn't the website supposed to show on the SERPs natually (even tho very far, page 30 or so) ?

if it's indexed it'll be there somewhere - just maybe not in the top 1000, that you can see.

Try to look at you competitor who is or are dominating for your target keyword/s, try to look at their backlinks perhaps that will answer your questions, why your not showing up in SERP

2 weeks is still early...don't look on SERP in first month at all.
Just put all energy in good content and promotion (social, links, etc..)

Maybe your niche is competitive. But, what are you waiting for ? Start backlinking and you will see it in top one day!

First, you have to make sure that you've submitted it to the needed search engine, for example webmaster in googgle or bing. Usually I notice that it takes about 2-4 weeks for it to appear after the submission. Then it also takes a while to get it to the first page.

Dont panic just wait a bit its going to show up.

That sounds like some of the best advice for the OP. Promotion of a site is so important in the beginning, especially for those with more competitive keywords. I would say that much of the focus should also be on creating stand-out content that people want to keep reading. Not checking the SERP at all for the first month is a good idea because many site authors find disappointing results compared to their initial expectations. This can be tough on inner motivation and mindset, which are essential for anyone to keep going with a website or blog for generating revenue.
