God I dont get RSS, I need a way of understanding it.

I have a blog as part of my site right.

So I then add content to this for my various keywords.

I also use other PR sites for publishing these blogs.

BUT if I somehow installed RSS onto my blog what are the advantages?

My mate said there is no point if you have a blog, it will be indexed anyway?

But I was thinking that RSS might magically feed my content to other places...

"Look at my btw with my new donor badge" AHEM, I am one of the Lords now.

It's so people can subscribe to you RSS feed and will be notifyed when your blog is updated, so they return to read the new articles.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

RIghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh

Got it.. oh thats rubbish for the business I am in, but good for something else....

Can't you use rss for seo as well? Like in seNuke they have the rss feed submitter.
And while on the subject of dumb rss questions, what about when people use feedity for rss feeds?
Is that so you can mask the url to your feed and create several different feedity links that all go the same rss feed? Is that so you can submit several different masked links to your feed and they all look different even though they all go to the same feed thus increasing the links to your feed?

With all this scraping going around an RSS feed might bring you some extra visitors if the content (and title) is "hot" enough.

Just make sure you don't feed the full content, only an excerpt so people have to go to your blog to get the full story.

Oh yeah....the dumbest question is the one never asked....
