Yeah man, Duke for PC back in the day was very awesome for it's time. I had thought the new game was vaporware for the last 10 years. I'll be extremely interested to see a polished copy of it after this long lol
"It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum...and I'm all outta gum"
One thing that bugged me, the "hot chicks" stuck inside the goo/gunk/shell thingy's always said "Help Me".
The only sodding thing you could do was waste them and listen to their digitized screams as they died a horrible and pixely death.
Oh man, the mention of Duke Nukem 3D takes me back (I'm 30 now).
The first 18 rated game that deserved the rating it received.
Woohoo - let's go roaming around a porn store...and blow it up.
Let's raid a strip joint and watch the pixelated ladies gyrate on their podium...then blow it up
3D Realms spent a staggering 12 years trying and failing to bring Duke Nukem Forever to market. Though the emotional toll that effort exacted on the studio remains unsaid, Duke Nukem Forever savior Gearbox Software has affixed a price tag to the labor.
In an interview with CVG, Gearbox president and CEO Randy Pitchford said that 3D Realms head George Broussard spent $20 million to $30 million of his own money to finish Duke Nukem Forever.
Broussard spent a princely sum in turning Duke into the killing machine that he is.
"George Broussard is not a poor man but I would estimate that he lost $20-$30 million dollars of his own money on Duke Nukem Forever -- I don't care who you are, that's a hell of a lot of money," Pitchford said. "He was committed to Duke to the point of insanity."
$20 - $30 million dollars.. sounds more like someone had some laundry to do. *wink*
Game looks pretty ********ing dope I must say I noticed an Xbox controller in the Demo I would assume it will be available for all platforms considering all the money that was shelled out?
Broussard was/is a perfectionist, and has kept revising the Nukem instead of releasing it in order to incorporate the latest advances in video gaming. The final release should be mind-blowing.
