Drupal vs Wordpress vs Joomla

I shared my point of view on another similar thread and I'll repeat it here. Since there's no more a clear distinction (as it used to be in the past) betweeen a blogging platform and a complete CMS system if you have to start from scratch drupal and joomla won't provide any benefit over WP. Stick with WP and the thousands and thousands of plugins to turn it basically into everything else web-wise. For a simple blog or a complex load-balanced/high-performance site. HTH.
Thanks for the responses, guys and/or girls... I think I am going to second the Wordpress thought.
I just messed with Drupal for awhile and it seems like I'd spend way too much time working on getting the design right...Time that is better spent backlinking or doing keyword research.

I have used all three and EVERY time I end up converting Drupal and Joomla sites over to WP sites in the long run. Always seem to run into a point where I just can't figure out how to do a specific thing in Drupal or Joomla and easily find out how to do it in WP.
I used to use Joomla exclusively. I think I've read the phrase "Google loves Wordpress" about 12,000 times on this site. Google doesn't care about your CMS. Joomla does just as well, and without a plugin. However, I eventually saw a WP template that I really needed, installed it, started to play and I was hooked.
Joomla v Wordpress (sorry, never used Drupal)
SEO: Equal results from my experience. You can do all the necessary on-page SEO with both pretty easily.
Design: for the plugins and themes, Wordpress by far. I also find it easier to manipulate themes with WP.
Ease of Use: Wordpress. I prefer it's console, widget and plugin management, and editability. Joomla's module setup can be annoying.

same here. depends on the site you are doing. wordpress has beautiful themes and lots of design variety. its still a blog site. drupal is best for all sorts of community sites. someone on this forum told me about a great looking digg type cms called hotaru, drupal digg clone has fell thru, so i am trying to make a couple of digg like sites with hotaru. but drupal is my main tool. and i am learning to use drush, a linux shell app for drush which speeds up using it and i have just learned to use the drupal hosting platform called aegir( instead of c-panel) , its absolutely beautiful. to make a new site, just write in the domain name, click on the what version of drupal you want and press the create button, boom a new site is created.

Have only used wp from the ones you listed and I think it's great.

WP is much easier to get started with but sucks at SEO because 99% of the themes are not SEO optimized. Even worse, they have negative SEO structure. To get WP properly optimized for SEO not to mention speed and other aspects requires quite a bit of work and to know what you're doing (you have to manually edit the theme source code).
Drupal vs WP is like an aircraft carrier vs a machine gun. Drupal is by far more potent, better designed, more optimized, etc. However it has quite a learning curve.
Joomla is somewhere in between.
Which you choose depends on which you are more familiar with so you can adapt to your needs. Any CMS out of the box is not great for SEO, hence it requires time to learn to optimize it and adapt it to your needs.

For me it really depends. For simple sites that need to be built up quickly with fancy menus and such I'll go with WP.
With that being said, my more beastly sites (Project management site, inventory management, stores, claim site, etc) are all Joomla 1.5.
I find that WP is great out of the box, with great FREE plugins (not to mention you can upgrade it without worrying so much).. Crafting good looking and working custom templates is a quick and easy task too.. But Joomla just has amazingly powerful free and commercial software that i can't pass up using 9/10 times.
Just my 2c.
