I am currently working as a VA for a client who is dropshipping and he is making $2000 every day. So, I can tell you that yes you can definitely make money out of this business.
However, it will never be as easy as following few steps.
It needs a lot of research while selecting a product, then managing customer queries and then making sure that you are targeting right set of people on Facebook Ads. This list does not end here and there are many more to dos in it.
Read Read and Read, try to push in some money and play around with it. You will definitely get there eventually.

Drop shipping can be a good way to make money, but you have to realize you are counting on someone else to do things correctly! Is the shipment the right item, is it addressed correctly, is it packaged properly, is it in good shape, etc.! The best thing to do is run a trial. Buy the item and have it shipped to a friend, neighbor or relative, so you can check these essentials yourself! Believe me, it will save you a lot of grief in the long run.

There's alot of money to be made in dropshipping however it's not going to be easy. But you wouldn't know unless you try it. Just go for it and learn by doing.

I've been dropshipping for 2 months selling small value items that cost a few £ each I have 1100 worth of sales and probley made 500...ive had zero experience at dropshipping befor hand.i started with 100 listing limit and now have over 3000.

Absolitely agree. Dropshipping like any other business takes time and money. You should be passionate about it (or product you dropship). You should know many things - how to create a webstore (but that's not a big deal actually, you can buy custom store), or you need to know how to promote your store (and invest in that).

That's true indeed. But probably the most important part is to find a good source of free products, without the source the whole business would not work.
IMO, since so many people want to copy you if you find the right product, it's just as important nowadays to have some sort of barrier to entry.
Sure, if you're trying to drop ship what ten million other people are trying to.
