Is dropshipping still a thing in 2026? I can see there's a lot of video in youtube the one click AI thing they will setup dropshipping website for you.

I've been studying, I think I'm stuck on finding a supplier and how to promote it. I am from the Philippines and I don't think dropshipping is not ideal to target here in our country.

Any tips before I start dropshipping or is it worth starting?

Dropshipping is quite popular these days, and the development of AI has made website design faster. You should find a niche product to compete with.

First, find a product segment you want to sell and start by attracting free traffic on social media platforms, which will help you reduce costs, or you can use paid advertising.

I always see that as a dropshipper you should find a supplier, is there any guide or tips you can give me about this?

Best tip - just start :D

Anyway you need try to generate traffic. Next step is choose way to monetize it

don't follow too many youtubers. they just promote their affiliate links. you can dropship in other countries.

find suppliers with 0 moq on alibaba, facebook dropshipping groups

get a payment gateway

learn to design your own stores. use ai to help with copywriting

if you are in the phillipines, I think a good strategy would be to buy some stock from china bring it to ph then sell it through marketplace, there are many agent check fiver alibaba etc by typing dropshipping agents and you will find many

I honestly think it's all about creating a catchy add on social media that gets picked up. Ok, the product also has to look good and price needs to be acceptible, but people have become easy believers...especially if it comes down to looking better, feeling better, better dressed,...

As a professional sourcing manager in China, based on my experience working with dropshippers, I can tell you that the cost of advertising is worth it, especially in this age of algorithms. As far as I know, many of my customers with daily orders over 100 have invested a lot in campaigns.

At the same time, there are two strategies I can recommend to you.

1. Building your own brand in a specific niche

2. Opening multiple stores with a variety of product types, winning by quantity.

Finally, regarding the backend supply chain support, I recommend using some automated software, such as cjdropshipping, aliexpress, zendrop, etc., which can now solve many problems.

However, if you want to take full control of the purchasing process, expand your business scale, customize products, or conduct quality checks before shipping, and need fast communication, you may need a pro supplier.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me.

all the product from dropship is easily to replicate just buy 1 click
there is no chancce to build the own brand with just dropshipping product
and if you want to custom the product to build own brand, supplier will ask you to buy in bulk for the cusom design and it not dropshipping anymore

just my 2 cent

Yes, dropshipping is still working in 2026 but not the way most YouTube videos show it.

The “one-click AI store” idea is overrated. What actually works is:

  • Choosing the right market (not every country converts well)
    Finding proven, high-demand products
    Building a clean, trustworthy store
Using the right traffic source (TikTok ads, organic content, etc.)

You’re also right some markets like the Philippines can be harder due to payment systems and delivery expectations. Many sellers target countries like France, UK, or US for better results.

For suppliers, beginners usually start with platforms like AliExpress or CJdropshipping, then move to private suppliers later.

If you focus on product research and a proper store setup, it’s still very worth starting in 2026.

If you need guidance, feel free to ask below.

Hey, White Night.
Thank you for your insights, but I must share a few different perspectives based on my actual experience working with private agents.

1. The idea that it's impossible to build a private brand is a misconception. In fact, this is exactly the value of private agents. I have led my team to customize packaging and hang tags for many Shopifier brands, which we call "light customization." This includes things like laser printing, small labels with specific names or logos, and outer packaging with brand names, etc. These forms of products highlight the style of specific brands and have received a lot of positive feedback from consumers.

However, I must tell you that even though it takes a bit of time, all these steps are manually completed by our private agent team before shipping, and there is absolutely no minimum order quantity (MOQ) required.

I think for a long time to come, AI tools will not be able to completely replace agents, because these tasks must be done by local specialists and require hands-on work.

2. However, if you are purchasing generic products, such as those from AliExpress or Alibaba, I believe that with the development of AI, it will gradually replace many agent's work (there are already many cases). Because they are purely intermediaries who only handle the shipping. In my previous reply, I detailed when it is appropriate to choose a private agent or use automated tools.

3. When it comes to private brands, I think there is another key factor: quality control. This is also a difficult problem that is hard to avoid in the one-click purchasing process with AI (unless the QC is the same for all products). The copied images on AliExpress are something you have probably seen before, and they also include various AI-generated, homogenized product descriptions.
"Garbage in, garbage out" is probably the same principle here. Therefore, quality control is also one of the important values we discover in our team's work.

If you are interested, I can send you some customized case studies privately. This will help you understand what "light customization" means. Through this method, you can amplify your brand effect, increase product premium, and raise the cost. I think this is a more reasonable business model for "dropshipping" in the future.

Should I just focus on one niche? Do you know where I can find like trending niches, and I am outside US so probably I will invest on ads to target US and UK right?
