Dropshipping with Clothes?

Hey, I want to start dropshipping and was going to sell clothes but now I am reading threads that say that the sizes are always wrong and it makes a big mess. Very curious if anyone has any insights, or thoughts on if or how I should get started dropshipping clothes.

The biggest issue with selling clothing online is the fact there is no common sizing between manufacturers, so you can get an awful lot of returns. Indeed a lot of people order multiple sizes of the same item knowing they will be returning.

Unless you really understand the fashion industry I would not pick that as your first venture.

Dropshipping clothes, don't do it

Sizes is one thing but customers are often unhappy about the fabric, quality and yeah size. It's a huge hassle when people want to return stuff.

If you want to do something with clothes do POD.

Thanks have read your threads multiple times. I am just struggling to find good products that aren't clothes in the niche I am trying to build :/

talk to your chosen vendors and ask them about size, they will explain you everything if you ask the right questions.

What is POD?
 
Just an idea, and correct me if I am wrong. But lets say you want to dropship gloves. And you order samples from 10 sellers to test quality/size. After that you keep the sellers which product satisfied you. Will it then be a bad idea to do dropshipping on those products after YOU have tested them yourself first?

I know several people who do this but not on clothes because it's pretty much useless however on finding the right gadget and build a landingpage around it and place ads could pay off great.

Know this guy who made a killing with a solar powered powerbank. After he ordered it made his own video which is always great and in the moment made about 50k in the first month and kept selling them till the momentum was dropped and then went on with the next "hot thing".

But clothes, good luck, waiting 2-5 weeks for every piece you want to sell, won't work.

As previously discussed each manufacturer has different sizes.

So a size 8 in one might be a size 10 in another. You cannot have different sizes on your site dependent on which manufacturer you source from, similarly you cannot build out your own brand if you only source from 1 manufacturer to keep the sizing consistent. Further some women wont wear a size 14 even if that is their correct size because they think it makes them fat, so they will only buy brands that have a size 14 marked as a 12!

In short if your just starting out and don't have experience of fashion that it not the place to start. Pick something that is less likely to be returned.

If you don't believe me and @Billy Batts then go ahead and do it and learn for yourself.

Yeah, I am gonna listen to you both and just mix POD with some dropshipping clothes items that are one size fits all.
 
you will get tons of returns due to sizing issues. if you don't have an economical return system setup you shouldn't bother (in general)
