Dropshipping section moderation

There have been a lot of threads in dropshipping section that were turned out to be scams.
In fact, I've never seen a legit iphone/ipad/electronics thread in that section.

I would like to suggest a few rules for posting a new thread in that section:

1) Being a donor / VIP
2) Having x number posts
3) Being a member for x amount of time

Sure, if someone is here to scam, they would.. but it will at least reduce the number of BS threads we see every day.

What do you guys think?

That would require checking each and every thread manually.. mod can't do that I'm sure.

While what I've suggested can be defined in vbulletin rules and no one would need to check the stats of the poster. vBulletin will handle that itself.

I also think there should (if there were one willing) be a mod that can/will verify the products by getting a free sample which would be the burden of the seller. Any legit seller shouldn't have an issue with sending products at their expense to be verified. Just my $.02.

It would take a lot of skill. It's a pain in the ass to verify items, takes a lot of time to check out the legitimacy of not only the products, but the seller.

I have a thread made for a suggestion below:

Thread approval, or something similar. OP Should be able to provide valid proof (pics with proof, and their BHW Name on the paper beside the stock) or such.

But ye it's a lot of extra work.

I agree with your X count, vip/donor , x amount of time thing.

A metric ton of threads are removed there on a daily basis already, more than any of you could possibly know.

The problem with a one-size-fits-all solution like "hey just verify every seller and every thread" is that you really have no understanding of how hard these staff members already work every single day to keep the spam at bay and keep you safe. I can understand that most of you have no problem tossing more work at an already highly active and highly skilled group of moderators, but I'm sure if you better understood the work and time that's invested by these guys keeping the board clean you'd feel differently.

At any rate, it's a matter that's been under the microscope for a while and it's nothing new as far as we're concerned. We'll continue to work toward wiping out the shady/spam offers, but as always, your first and best line of defense is using your brain and doing your own due diligence. We can't moderate the intelligence of all parties involved.

Now am I suggesting you should verify every single thread like marusia is suggesting? Of course not as that would be a full time job for one person without any pay other then some free junk they could sell.

I never ever heard one mod ever complain about their work. They volunteer, yes volunteer, if you think they whine they I don't think this is the place for you. They have their own families, work and other responsibilities so please realize what you are saying before you make such a ridiculous and inaccurate statement as this forum relies on their help. Sorry that comment just really got to me.

This would actually work just the opposite. You send one legit iPhone, gain the trust and the next guys all order 5-10 each, and then the seller just disappears with the money. Anyone could shed out that few hundred bucks for legit iPhone when they know to make it multiple times back with little effort.

Sure there's no (easily done) fool-proof method available, but still. The points mentioned in OP would be a great start.

Wouldn't really call this valid proof, me too I can take my iPhone 5 and video myself using it. Valid proof would be a video or picture of many boxes (let's say you are selling iphones) so many boxes of iPhone stacked together with text beside on a paper with the BHW Username or such to prove this, this also cannot be 100% Trusted, but it's the max we can do.

I thought that was so obvious that I didn't need to mention it but yeah, that's what I thought when I saw the video. A username on paper and good quality photo. Even that doesn't make someone trustworthy, I could have bought a new phone, taken a photo then send you an empty box.

A few things to think about and look at here guys.

First, yes some of these threads definitely smell like BS to me. However their are allot of people asking
for information ect. So part two should be the shitlist filling up with negative outcomes right?

Or people posting their positive outcomes on the sales threads. Neither of these are happening..

Makes me think their extremely unsuccessful or fabricated replies?

Let me explain it like this.

I agree %100 some of these threads cannot be true services.

However we do not see the same number of shitlist threads occurring for every claimed scam thread.

And on the flip side we do not see any positive feedback of the buyers experience.

So these threads must not be successful since we see no outcomes negative or positive?

Just a thought...
