I think eBay is going to slowly squeeze out the drop shippers. The trend is going to be that if you want to survive in the long run you are going to have to buy in bulk, store them, and ship yourself. On one end the eBay is getting on sellers' all the time to ship faster and faster and on the other end the drop shippers who sell you stuff are also turning up on eBay competing with you. I import export stuff form China, and way too many times have I seen that once a Chinese manufacturer has your customer information they will send a cousin or brother in law to set up office here to undercut you and try to take your business from you.

Not only that, but Dropshipping on eBay will get your account limited and unable to sell.
There are always buyers unhappy with their products, of which you have no control over.
The blame is on you, plus returns can be a problem.

Wow, I do not know where to start. DS is not dead. I know a dozen people I speak with every day that DS with the method I have done for years. It is not fun, and it is WORK, but making $1k to $3k a week is very doable. I have two mentors I look up to that make $50K a month dropshipping from 1 ebay account and a few minor sites like bonaza.
The problem is all this requires training and alot of work. I invested over $800 in 3 different training programs and did all of the videos and assignments before I finally started to make $500 to $700 a week. It also took me about 20 to 30 hours of training and making listings and researching items.... Paid hundreds of $$$$$ and work for free for weeks part time...
Don't get me wrong, I didn't have $800 and I didn't do it all at once. I invested $10 for an ebook, learn 2 things I saw I could make money with, then a $30 program with videos. Then made a few hundred... then invested $300... made more... it takes a while.
I have a program we sell for $1k and also a $5K program... but I have found every IMer doesn't value the program and/or have the money to invest. But I have found normal people (no offense IMer, I'm not normal either) with a real job see an opportunity to invest $1k and make a $200 a week income part time is great. But IMers seem to want to make make double or triple the investment weekly right away.
I think we are all dreamers and that is what kind of gets us all in Internet marketing. Who doesn't want to build some magical website and have the next amazon or EB? But as we make money online making just a living is a priority over making $5K every week while only working 5 hours a week.
Really, if you learn like 2% on here and make a program to sell NON Immers... you can sell the program all day.
BTW, dropshipping is working great... but I can't take it anymore... a little burned out. But training other is fun and profitable.

Dropshipping works fine if you are dealing with a reliable drop-shipper who constantly ships on time, and has a good inventory for your niche.

we recently started a dropshipping site of our own. we had good margins on all products, approx 20-25%. our supplier is huge and very hard to get an account with. the only downside we had before closing our site was huge amount of fraud orders. almost 90% of orders that came to our site were frauds. We had good system in place to counter it but our chargeback fees was killing our margin.
working with ebay and amazon is hard when you are dropshipping. in their terms you should always have the inventory on hand when publishing your items either on amazon or ebay. so to me dropshipping is dead. if someone has better options, please share.

This is one of my main points against drop shipping. eBay and Amazon are slowly going to make it impossible to meet their standards if you don't actually have the items in hand.
If you don't have enough money to buy and store in bulk, drop shipping is a good way to get started because it costs almost no money out of your pocket to start, and it saves you the labor of packing and shipping.
Can somebody PM me with a good dropshipping company that I can use on my ebay account. I understand there has been numerous posts here about the different drop shipping companies but if someone is willing to let me know one that relates to fashion or electronics whether it be Handbags, Watches, Electronic Vapes, Something that a high ROI. Much Appreciated

The down fall is what you mentioned, and was a big result of the financial crisis in the 90s. Another downfall is there is tonnes of shit products circulating and many unhappy customers that wanted the world for $5 *cough* like buyers at Fiverr that want posts from DA 90+ PR 9 domains for $5.
We dropship from US and Australian companies and have never had an issue, so I guess it all depends on your product and how much of a risk you're going to put yourself and customer to make an extra $1.

I'm not saying it can't make money. But way too many times have I seen a successful drop shipper go suddenly under because their drop shipper starts selling on eBay and starts competing against them, develops a drug habit and doesn't ship on time, etc.
