if you're hosing the site on a cpanel server it should have a free SSL on it. if not, you can get sub $10 /year ssl cert...

What do you mean by cpanel server? I own hostgator shared hosting plan

hostgator uses cpanel, hence there is free shared ssl already included in it.. just look here: http://www.hostgator.com/shared-compare --> shows that "shared ssl" is included...

Sorry, been at work all day. Yes, your PayPal account will be linked via Braintree! Stripe is an entirely different option.

You don't have to invest anything. Most decent payment gateways have testing API which you can simulate payments to ensure they work properly. Maybe I'm naive though, since I'm from the U.S. and have always been able to choose which gateway I wanted to use.

Paypal works fine but they cannot pay with CC because I own personal account and I had problems upgrading due to technical bug but I will call them tomorrow and I will try to fix this.
