I used to dropship quite a lot with Amazon a few months ago and i was looking to start up again listing some items soon.

But i've had a look at the site and saw a new change called "Charge when ship". I'm just wondering if anyone who used to DS on amazon, will this prevent it now? I'm a bit confused if it will still be possible..

Nope DS'ing is still good. Pretty much what Charge When Ship is, you just don't get your money deposited into your Amazon payments account until you ship the item. That way if you need to refund for some reason then that persons money isn't already in your account and all that junk, they just have to cancel the order so that their credit card is never charged.

Oh. So, i'd just have to have a bit of cash in my account already to pay for the item from the dropshipper and then when they recieve it, they pay me? I think thats right..

nothing has changed for me , I still don't need money upfront to DS. If you read my post on isaiahz thread, all I do is go ahead and confirm shipment w/o a tracking number, wait the 3 days to receive the money via ach to my bank account, then turn around and order the product and send the customer an email with the tracking number through the amazon database on seller central. my customers are still happy.

Yeah but see you have to wait 3 days to put the order in, and then a day or two more for your DS company to ship it, that adds up anywhere form 4-6 days. By that time the package should already be there to the customer.

Did you ever get any complaints that the package is late or taking too long? Or do you just state that in your listing?

Well until you are to the level to where you can front the money I really wouldnt sweat it that much, most of my customers are happy to have there item within 5-7 business days. For me the breakdown is 3 days wait for cash, then same day item is shipped by supplier then max 3 more days for customer to have product, so at most there wait time is 5-6 biz days.

If amazon finds out you aren't shipping within two days they will shut you down. They will look at tracking and figure that out.

Well to each his own, Im just stating what is still working for me even after the charge with ship policy now. Ive ds'd about 230 packages already with this policy and amazon has not complained to me at all and no complaints yet from customers. Also a tracking number is not even a requirement so why would they shut me down?

This is good information as I have not used Amazon for a few months also. I used to make good money with ds with them.

is this information concerning the no need for a tracking number on amazon still true?

You do not need a tracking number, but it is recommended by Amazon. If you do get into trouble with them they can apparently demand documents and crap that show proof of shipping and stuff. Don't know if that's actually legal or not but I have heard of them doing that.
Where the heck do you guys find drop shippers that'll even look at your order in 3 days? Been trying to drop ship from dealextreme but they take like 3 weeks to ship minimum.

Interesting post

I always assumed with Amazon that you get paid when they confirm they have received the product. I posted some stuff recently, confirmed shipment without tracking number, then logged into Amazon and realised my earnings were a lot more than I was expecting due to this.

The only problem is that it takes a while for Amazon to transfer, but as long as your customers are happy with the wait, then you're good to go.

Up until recently I sold Amazon products on Ebay and got Amazon to DS straight to them. That was until Crappal limited my account. Now I am creating fake accounts to start over.

Also, can someone help me understand Amazon marketplace and vendors who have 'fulfilled by Amazon' on their profiles. How do they actually sell their items, because Amazon's price is the lowest.

Fulfillment by Amazon is like Amazon drop-shipping your goods for a fee. They also charge a bunch of other fees like fulfillment fees, shipping and handling fees, inventory storage fees, etc.

I posted this question on Isaiahz's thread and will ask you too? Where do you go to request 24 hour disbursements? I am a pro merchant and can't seem to find anywhere to request the payments and i have tried searching for the "Request Disbursements" section. How do you do it???

It won't show up until you add tracking info, don't have to add a tracking number, just confirm you sent it. The next day, you just go to Payments on your seller's account, and there will be something saying 'request disbursement'. I would send you a screenshot, but I can't disburse until tomorrow.
