Dropshippers Good And Bad...Lets Talk About It!!

arrr i just wrote up a whole lotta what to look for when trying to drop-ship and it just crapped out on me (thanks firefox)

In a nutshell, look for local manufacturers, and if you email these - you'll get positive responses i'm sure.

Don't go after electronics (china has that market) - go after something thats sought after but many different brands.

good luck

I do very well with electronics, and China don't even come into the equation.

If you are looking for a dropshipper then I would recommend going to trade fairs, also calling companies direct to see if they will dropship for you. For example call a cardboard manufacturer and ask if he will dropship tailor made packaging to your customers, just an idea.

I'm new to ebay but I've been exporting for years from china. One of my chinese staff suggested we start a dropshipping site. It seems a bit saturated though. Is there still a need for better services? Just throwing it out there...

if your dropshipping from china, surely there's a way to get express postage into it?

salehoo dot com is the best. it has a list of manufactures, dropshippers and discount companies.

alibaba, trade key, search (product) paypal after you register and you'll find the 100% legit guys because they accept paypal which is almost impossible to use if your trying to rip someone off

Agreed. I've purchased well over 7k worth of product from 2 different sellers on alibaba and never once got ripped off.

The key is to find a seller that accepts paypal (that is an absolute MUST...but most (red flag) only accept bank transfers or wester union)...and secondly, ask as many questions as scientifically possible and see if they're keen to answering all of them and not trying to rush a sale or keep pestering you to just 'trust them.'

If I find a company on alibaba I want to order from, I ask them not only exhausting questions about each product I'm interested in, but I also ask them to take 'on the fly' pictures of the products I'm interested in next to pieces of paper with my email written on it for added legitimacy. The guys that are scams will usually at this point stop talking to you immediately.

I'm still wanting to try my hand at the dropshipping game, and I appreciate this thread. It does get quite tiresome stock piling a huge litter of items in your own house and having to package them up and ship them individually...but I'm just very weary about relying on a dropshipper especially when dealing with my ebay account that's been around for over 6 years...

So right now I am looking at Trade Tang video games. I could get like 20 hot new xbox or PS3 games for around $125. I want to make sure that these replicas look and preform just like the real deal. Has anyone bought any video games through trade tang before? If you sold each of these games at say.... $25 a piece, that would come out to a profit around...$500.

I have been doing an experiment with Amazon the last few days. I have 15 trendy video games that I priced at $25, and I got 3 freakin' sales in one hour! It was incredible! I always cancel the orders as fast as possible, because I do not own the product; I don't want people leaving bad comments or crap like that on my account. But it is better to experiment to see what sells before you invest in your niche(s) obviously.

excellent idea in theory. but i speak from experience, you will get nailed and hard. try something a little less obvious and heavily trafficked by the piracy police and you just might make some cash selling knockoffs.

Bad comments?, you should be thinking of your cancellation rate, Amazon don't like cancelled orders.

Thanks for looking out peglegtrading! So now this leads me to ponder these less obvious products. So iPods, video games, hand bags, and such are completely ruled out. Has anyone tried women clothing, or does this get returned more often? I will be thinking more on this today. Everybody please help and throw out some ideas, or products that have made you money on Amazon or Ebay.

I am definitely going to concentrate on higher priced items so I can make more of a return on investment.

Slygemini hi umm...I think u can make good money selling uggs..right now it's on high demand because the winter is coming...umm..let me know I can hook u up matter of fact we can work together...I got products and a good drop shipper with free shipping if I order more than 5 items...soo just let me know lol

So basicly if you want to get legitimate replica items online, via websites.. they must except paypal? how reliable is paypal and does it cover any money lost? i know alot of chinese replica sites online that mention paypal aswell as others but as soon as they make excuses not using it is that a deal breaker? the only problem is i always review a site before doing any business with them and some dont have any reviews, if any are full of chinese scammers which is quite a relentless tiring pursuit.. to name a few wikivog , wholesale orchina or chinaorwholesale any of them to be trusted?

Hey everyone,

I don't know about everyone else but I want to sell on eBay and amazon but I don't want to use my own address to ship items...I have a chinese supplier but as you all know if we drop ship from china forget it...it's marked as fake(replicas mirror imaged) but what I have been reading all this drop ship info and ppl have their own stuff to drop ship...but what I want to know is where can I find a drop shipper that can drop ship my items I have already?? Like drop shippers from the US or UK or any where that doesn't bring up red flags...that's what I want to know...does anyone know or is a drop shipper on here that I can send my products to and then they drop ship it for me? Thanks...n if anyone is interested in 1:1 r*pl*cas PM me.

Lol I mean thats where the money is...but I'm still trying to find one...If only I can create a drop shipping company I would be rich right now lol...just image being a drop shipper you don't need products have people ship their products from their supplier and then drop ship it for them wouldn't that be great?? Lol I mean it's never too late I'm going to loon into tho lol
