Hi guys,

in December 2024, 4 of my sites have dropped in Google.

I'm still trying to get sites out of the shadow ban, but no results yet.

Who has experienced similar and how did you manage to get out of this situation?

Do you have more sites which were unaffected by that update?

Hey man,

Sorry to see such a good website being shadow banned by google. My website was also screwed by google 18 december's google update.

Right now, only a few keywords are ranking on my website, currently I am trying to get good guestposts and pbn, and I keep on posting.

I only have 5 sites, adult themed.

4 sites came under the filter in December, and the 5th site came under the filter on February 13, 2025.

Have you used AI content on your site?

I have also now taken up bing, there are already the first good results there.
Good to know man. Right now, depending on Google's ranking is a trap, nor it is a viable long-term business now.

Many sites hit by the Dec 2024 spam update recovered after removing low-quality links and improving E-E-A-T—focus on niche authority and real signals like branded searches.

One of my sites were hit in December. It finally bounced back about a week ago for 2 or 3 days then tanked back to zero. Not sure why still, I have never used AI, I have tweaked pages, each page is at least 650 words, there's nothing that can save my site I am thinking.

Hoping I am wrong and people like you and I can get results back but yea right now its so shot it seems.

You have to analyze your websites. You can remove spam links.

That sounds really bad

I'm still trying to fix this, so if anyone can help or give advice, I'd be very grateful!

I had a similar drop from December 2024 spam update. What helped was removing low-quality content, fixing bad backlinks and improving site speed and UX. Recovery was slow, but steady updates and clean signals helped rankings come back gradually.

What type of content do you have on your website? Did you use AI when creating content?

Appreciate the points. The thing is I do not really think I have too much low quality content. my pages are essentially "tools" that offer a functionality then they have at least 750 words of content and usually links to other resources as well as internal links.

I thought that would get my site out of the gutter but I am still affected.

I have over 250 pages on my site, going to have to comb through everything again i guess. Thanks

I have pages that each do their own service/functionality. They almost all have a section below them that includes 750+ words explaining more about the tool and everything associated with it. Barely any AI, sometimes I will use AI to help me generate some FAQ questions but that's very limited.

your sites got hit by the spam update which means one thing: google thinks you’re either too shady or your backlinks smell like a PBN graveyard.

The thing is I see tons of sites linking to me that are like garbage sites. They have 0 authority and just are trying to sell links.

Are those going to hurt my SEO? If so I would deff want to disavow them or do something about them if I can, I just never found a way to get them away from my site
