Hey guys,

Has anybody noticed the @mia.dropkiks viral hack. Basically they have thousands of bots running on different accounts tagging all recently active users.

Does anyone know how they are doing this?

They're called "Mentions" - some people/sites provide this service for a price.

Judging by the amount they're doing they'll probably get banned eventually.

Do you know what sites provide this service? Most of the accounts making the mentions are real accounts btw.
 
The level at which they're doing the mentions, they probably have their own bots! And no, most of the accounts doing the mentions are not real but owned by them. And they're doing it really well.

Have you ever done this before? Does stuff like this work for eCommerce sales?
 
I just got tagged in one of their comments... It certainly caught my attention... I am digging for more information

Kudos to whoever is in charge of marketing at Dropkiks. They gotta be making bank because I know they have several others accounts very similar to that one.
 
Most of the accounts have been banned now. Is anyone still getting mentions from dropkiks accounts?
 
Seems like they're banned now. Can anyone fill me in on what their account and messages were like?
 
i think they were banned by the huge amount of mentions and tagging 7 people per comment. instead of doing a few mention every once in a while they did way to many on every photo.

They scraped users for a hashtag or a username of recent followers and commented the users in the comment section on a photo so like Hundreds of thousands of usernames were commented in a photo
 
I wonder if their shoes were fake as well. They definitely sold 25 or more of those on that night.
 
Nike Roshe Run replicas are easily acceessible on Aliexpress so I wouldn't be surprised if they did a little customization with those guys.
