Hello guys, I have been thinking of starting some drop shipping business and heard a lot about shopify. I don't want to waste my money on shopify rather I would prefer to setup my own magento/drupal commerce on webhost bought for other website.

Just wanted to know what is best way to start

Shopify vs own system.

Idk if woocommerce allows you to import products as easy as shopify, but if you can do that your way, don't think twice and go with your own solution, so you don't need to pay for the shopify subscription. Maybe you even have more control and customization with your own solution, shopify is quite "basic"

Go with a free option if you have a low budget. You can always switch to Shopify in the future.

Thanks for the precious suggestion

If you want to open store ASAP: shopify
If you got time and maybe you like playing around with settings, plugins, pagebuilders etc: woocommerce

Owned few shopify stores, now working on woocommerce one..
Never going back to shopify, the freedom of woocommerce is amazing!

PS: If you don't have much knowledge with wordpress/woocommerce in general and still want to go this route prepare to spend a lot of time while you figure out how everything works.

Never I have use shopify. Always I create my own site. I do not like to involve 3rd party in my business because control is very important

You are the one who must answer to your customer, not shopify. So if shopify mess up YOU are the one who will take blame

This is only for amateur people who done not understand the law and who are too lazy to build their own platform

Great advice, that is also my thoughts. In case in future if website turns out big we need to have the full control . Great advice mate :)

WooCommerce + FlatSome.
The cheapest and the best option if you know wordpress.
Plenty of possibilities, own plugins that do not pay a lot of money.

I actually realized this too. Build your own website. In the future, if you use shopify or any open card platform (shopify, wix, ...etc), and want to build a mobile app for it, its almost impossible to do since these platforms dont give out api's

Anybody using alidop shipping plugin? Is it good?
