I know a lot of people here are drop shippers and I wanted to get started as well just don't really have the funds to start and maintain a website so I thought I would start out by using a third party marketplace , I know the niche I want to do and have a good source but I just wanted to know what complications could come from drop shipping on Esty or if you have another suggestion like facebook marketplace , I want to try out facebook market place but I don't have an account or use my actual real life identity to do so

I did it for quite sometime on Etsy.
The trickiest bit is setting up your store. It is best to initially not look like a dropshipping store. I initially set mine up as a t-shirt print-on-demand store (although they may have got stricter as well)
The dangers are you can get shut down at any time. I was selling stuff from AliExpress that clearly breached copyright. There were a few listings that got taken down and I could keep going but one day my whole store was shut down with no recourse to get it back up.
If you weren't planning on dropshipping stuff that had other company's IP on it there would probably be less risk, but you're still not really meant to dropship so the risk is still there

Thanks for replying , I wasn't thinking of dropshipping stuff with IP as I thought it wasn't really a good idea to do that on esty given the type of stuff that's typically sold there but your advice does help me out a lotI did it for quite sometime on Etsy.

As the previous poster noted, if you sell on a 3rd-party marketplace, you are at their mercy and you need to play by their rules. You probably want to sell on at least on two different platforms, so that if you are experiencing any issues on one, you still have the other as a backup. And if money is an issue, why not just use the cheapest Shopify plan?
