Drop is Keyword 2nd position to No-Where.

One of the keyword for my blog wordpress site was 2nd on google. On bing and yahoo it was somewhere 1st to 4th. I changed my hosting last month in 21th of Dec, and site was working fine till 29th of Dec 2014.
Then suddenly I found low traffic from google, and when i checked my keyword position, it ranked no where in first 5 pages (not in top 50 positions.).
Whereas in bing and yahoo it is still on first page. Meanwhile I was doing just manual backlink creations, including stealing the backlinks of competitors. I could not understand the reason for drop in ranking in google. I even checked on some times, my site is not penalized as some keywords are working and ranked on google but on 3rd or 4th page.
Then I started probing the reason, some sites say that it may be due to new hosting servers, some say it is due to bad backlinks.
My name site has currently 65 backlinks, whereas the sites which are now on top of google for these keywords has more than 300 backlinks. and sometimes have more than 1000 backlinks. Seems like they are using automated or paid backlinks and paids news blasting service.

My question: is it due to low backlinks ? or some other reason ? which resulted to vanish my site in top 100 results in sudden.

Edit: Main site is nowhere in keyword search, whereas mainsite.com/privacy-policy is on 42th position on google.com

Change in hosting must have triggered the drop. Just wait it out for a week or so and it should be back.

Can you please explain how change in hosting can effect ranking ?
By the way, I started using cloudflare after migrating to new hosting.

There was a video with Matt Cutts talking about changing hosting, how you should do it. You can google it I guess...
I remember he sad that you should leave both hosting active for some time, before you make sure that search engines are picking up new hosting.

Also, location of the server has SEO impact. If you changed it rapidly, maybe thats why you went down.

I did not change domain name, I just changed hosting server, so I don't think ranking gets effected with that.
I also believe that using cloudflare does not effect ranking. But I read on some forums n thread that it might drop your ranking with free cloudflare, if there are a lot of negative sites on that dns set.
So I m planning to remove cloudflare from my site, let's see what are the results.

it might look to google as if there is a new owner of the website. You need to find the Cutts video where he talks about changing hosting... were you on a dedicated IP before and now on a shared one?

no, in both hosting plans, I was using shared web hosting service. I am I was and I am in shared IP address.

Just wait for a while and see if your website returns. It might just be a temporary issue.

That's sad. Between have you checked with your robots.txt and sitemap as well. Are they same as it used to be on the old hosting ? May be you can get help from google webmaster tool or check with your backlink profile. May be something is wrong there. Good luck

Just an update: even after removing cloud flare and two weeks wait, I could not get the position back.

Some one suggested that I will have to create all new backlinks.

You should create good quality backlinks, especially blog posts and see if your site returns.

Relax, they will get there rankings back. In the mean time do just what you did before in term of back linking, social media, ... and you will be fine.

hosting change can't cause such a drop

it's nearly always your backlinks, anchor text diversity and stuff

One of my websites is doing the same rank dancing these days. From top 10 to nowhere and back again to the top. I did not changed my hosting btw. But anyway. I got some new hq backlinks and I saw this issue before couple of months again. As someone above said just wait some time before doing anything.... It should jump higher again.
