I am currently getting about 25,000 UV's per month, 40,000 Page views.
I use Onlywire to auto submit each post to social bookmarking sites including twitter and facebook.
After I create a post, I use the google adwords tool to find a good keyword, and build 10-20 comment links on high PR blogs directly to that post.
I am also trying tribepro this month. www.tribepro.com. Its mainly for mlm users but you can follow people who auto-syndicate each of your blog posts for you. If you find 10 people to auto syndicate your posts, you could get 1000's of backlinks for each post.
Lastly, depending on your content you can post to buzzfeed. Create a Fun-Friday type of post, and attach a viral video or a funny photo and stick it on your site and post it to buzzfeed. Even if your site is about gardening, you could still have a Fun-Friday type of post. Even though it will attract readers that wont be long term readers, it will help build authority, driving your Alexa numbers down and increasing your SERP positions.
Don't forget link exchanges on the front pages of blogs in your industry. Don't link exchange to an inner page, only to the front main page, then you will get a back link for every post......and don't link exchange with someone who only posts 1 every 3 months if you post everyday. They will be getting 100 more links then you.
