Driving traffic questions.

Hey there, I've got a few questions, and I didn't know where to place this thread. So here it goes.

My brother and a few of his friends made a game, which got featured on Steam Greenlight, and started selling a bit now since they entered early access.

Now my question is, how can you drive traffic, visitors or just advertise a game?
They can invest some money for it, but they don't really know where to start.

Anyone has some ideas?

if they can invest some money I would place Facebook ads because you can highly target the people. Look for a similar game or just games in general or even add a target group that is willing to buy

Hmm, noted. What are other ways besides Facebook ads?
Would buying traffic for the facebook fanpage itself be of any help?

Is there a way to drive traffic straight to the steam game page?

Well, I certainly wouldn't start out paying for advertising. You can burn through that quickly and then you'll be dead in the water. Don't think in terms of it being a sprint to the finish line, it's more of a steady jog. Which game is it?

What I've been thinking now is to build a webpage for the game and rank it up with some SEO work and getting it on first page of Google (if possible).
That would theoretically drive some traffic and get some users to buy the game. Maybe I could even monetize the site with adsense and some affiliate links.

What do you guys think? Would it work? I'm thinking of a 300$ investment at max (building site and SEO work). Would I be able?

Do you think putting adsense and affiliate links on the "company" page will make you look a real professional game company? No.. So don't do that.. I had asked you what game it was so I could look at their profile on steam and see if you guys had actually done anything at all... I have a whole list of things you should have been doing by now and can do going forward to get traffic, but wasn't going to start listing things until I could see what you already had. I'll say this though. Don't view yourselves and a couple guys that put a game together and want to make a few bucks. You need to view yourself as a real company and do what real companies do.

Hey, I've sent you a PM with the link. Thanks :)
