Seen a lot of rave reviews for it on here for creating reports etc

Tigerdirect has it on sale for only $29.99

They also have a rebate bundle of Dragon Naturallyspeaking V10, PDF create and PDF converter for $29.99. But it is a rebate bundle so make sure you follow up with your paperwork

That's a great offer. Better to pay that than take a chance with those downloads.

Hi,

For those who own dragon naturally speaking, I wanna ask something.
Could DNS take the source from vids, or audiobook besides our own voices ?
For example, I have one vid containing two people are talking, but there is not subtitle on it. So, I want to transcribe the speech in that vid into text.

Can DNS accomplish this task ?

Couldn't you just turn up the speakers and use the mic normally? I'd assume that would work.

The simple answer is no. DNS must be trained to the user's voice. Throwing a conversation of untrained voices at it will do nothing but get you a bunch of garbage.

On top of having to train a voice there are other dictionaries for areas like medical phrases, etc. I tried transcribing this court recording mp3 file and dragon failed at it miserably. But once trained with your voice it's pretty cool stuff.. fyi, v11 is the latest.

This is a great software for creating articles very quickly and efficiently if done correctly. I don't have the newest version but it can't be anything short of great. Let me know how it is once you have it.

the software is good for sending emails and writing short notes / papers. But anything over about a page is gonna be annoying because Dragon doesn't always get a lot of the text right. If you have an ipod touch / iphone then you can get a free app on your device which is nice.

DNS takes quite a while to train up to learn to speak your language. You could use it on others voices however the text will more than likely be incorrect unless you speech pattern was nearly the same.

Its easier to get a real person to type the voices...in the short term.

It is available on piratebay - for those who are interested

(I downloaded it for evaluation purposes only though!!)
