I've heard that creating a post but then saving it to your drafts before posting effects engagement and can mean the post is less visible. Does anyone know if this is true?

Nope there is no evidence to suggest that.

i m not sure that saving a post in the drafts would affect the number of views on its own.i would be more concerned about what is written, timing nd reaction from the readers.it might very well be that there was less engagement with the post but it is quitte easy to point at the wrong reason.has it ever been tested?

it would be interesting to know where such claims originated from though.just bcz a post is saved as a draft does not mean that its performance would automatically deteriorate but people might just feel the difference bcz other parameters have changed.if a person has already tested the two methods through severral posts using one account, that would really convince me.

I'd keep using drafts. Using one account isn't enough: match the format and topic, then compare reach the same number of hours after posting.

This is not correct. Most new creators who post content about engagement and growth post videos with some false things that does not have to do anything with the growth of the page. They do it just to spice up the content so that they get more views.

I haven’t seen reliable evidence that saving a post as a draft reduces its reach Content quality timing and early audience engagement are more important factors to focus on.

I've heard that rumor too but never seen solid proof. Most people I know save to draft (even creators) all the time and their posts still perform normally.
Then If a post flops, it's usually the content or current algorithm mood, not the draft step dude

it's a myth bro, thats not true from my point. i never heard before this, and never face it at all. my insta account currently has 3 drafts post, and for that i don't see any bad effects on my reach or impressions.

I think the same. Even if saving a post as a draft did affect engagement, it would be strange logic to reduce its visibility after publication just because it was saved earlier.

I don't think saving a post as a draft makes any difference. What matters more is how people react after you publish it.

Saving your post to draft doesn't reduce engagement; they're just spreading this false rumor to get views.
