The question is quite self-explanatory, I'd say. Maybe I just went too far with my imagination on the traffic. Let's say 200K monthly (I'm not allowed to edit the question).

I think this might help not only me better understand the market. We always talk about best strategies, but we seldom openly talk money when it comes to linkbuilding.
So, let's use imagine this scenario and use USD as currency.

Additional questions:

1. what other details would you ask about the site to see if the price is right?
2. How would you bargain on the price?

1) niche relevant links 2) organic USA traffic 3) type of content

1) Let's say 60% are relevant
2) USA traffic... let's say 60K?
3) Niche- specific content. The link will be placed in a blog article

LEt's say the site has a blog with news, product reviews, tutorials.

For now?

Nothing, your metrics don't mean shit to me as metrics, in general, don't mean shit, they are only used by n00bs and sellers of links/domains who understand that n00bs are getting a hard-on for metrics.

To answer that question I would have the research the domain and its backlink profile and their backlink profile to see what it a link on it is really worth and most of the times it isn't worth $10-

I totally agree that those metrics are not enough to evaluate a site's worth. That's why I also asked to add the questions you would ask the seller, and how you would bargain starting from the given info and your profile analysis.

Thanks for this, I am new and your content is really helping me from wasting time and money.

What do you think about the links that Rachmaninoff posts, when it comes to a local lead gen site? Do you think those are a waste of time or are they worth anything?

In my testing I haven't seen any data that shows it helps with rankings, some people will argue that these links help to diversify your link profile and if your link profile is somewhat shit (low-grade PBN's for instance) then there is maybe some use for them, other then that I would not spend my time and/or money on them as my link profile doesn't need low-grade diversification from low-grade sources.

How about pointing these to a PBN or 2.0? Would it help them gain any juice or is the answer still the same?

That is something you really should test yourself ad my results are not always the same as your results, but sure as a tier-three to get stuff indexed, why not but for juice? I am not seeing it in the data I have, but then again my data could be wrong and that is why you should do your own testings, I am just a guy on the internet.
