    Hey BHW,

So yesterday I decided to use the only method that I've had success with so far, writing e-books for DP.

That said, the first two times I posted books I was inundated by messages, but since yesterday I've only got one purchase... it's a 10$ e-book and the copy is just a modified version of the original two, so I'm wondering why it's not selling...

The only noticeable difference is that it is now listed in the "e-books" section...

So yeah, is it just something to do with my timing or my content, or is the DP e-book market over?

Also, does BHW think I'd make more by listing it in freebies, which is where most of the users seem to be...?

Or, would I be able to list it just in the overall BST at DP without getting penalized, cause previously that's what I did and I made a lot more a lot quicker...

    Well, feedback, opinions, etc. please,

    Cheers,
    Femir

It may have been the timing. But I haven't ever done that method, so I wouldnt know.

Lol, but isn't the whole point of DP to sell crap to noobs? I mean I make sure all my methods work and are actually profitable, but yeah...

Because of no bumping, you could not make any sales. Further for the first 2 days it will replied by only asking for reviews. So its difficult for selling ebooks now a days in dp.

Not to mention the fact that everyone and their brother will have a free copy of your book shared from the people that got review copies. ;)

I'd think it is against the rules to post in freebies, unless your ebook price is less than $5 (sorry, I did not check the rules of DP, it was that amount prevoously).

Overall BST section is more liberal, there are more people lurking there just to look for quick bucks. However, your thread also gets pushed down faster, combined with no bump rule, you'd wish you have some friends there.

Generally I don't advise selling ebook in DP at all, high risk of (worldwide) redistribution, lots of noobs asking for reviews and your chances of meeting with genuine open-minded buyers are quite low. Selling of softwares with some protection is OK though in DP, other than that WarriorForum is more encouraging for internet marketers (the people are more supportive) and they give much better reputation in case your products are really good.

Hmm, yes, $20 per listing and $20 per bump, I think. You'd have to sell your stuff cheaper than anywhere else you sell it though (not to worry if you are not selling anywhere else, just say price for outside market much higher).

What exactly are those new rules? I have seen some changes in thread, there seems to be time limit and also cost limit, etc. listed right above the thread and in the thread preview. I don't really like the new system, I don't see a "bustling" marketplace anymore. It is on decline?
