Downsides of changing an Instagram Username

I have an old personal account of mine that I've had since 2013. I've deleted all posts on it and it currently has about 500 followers. I want to change the username and make a specific niche with this account. Is there any harm to doing this or should I create a brand new account? I'd be posting all of my own content.
