Downloading Movie Trailers

I've been using the following GreaseMonkey script to download movie trailers from Apple's site for some time, but over the last couple of days it has stopped working. Instead of downloading the .mov file it downloads a randomly named .part file.


I'm assuming that Apple have made some changes to their site. Anyboby got any ideas on how to get this script working again?

Have you tried tubehunter ultra?

This is some software that you download to your pc and it will automatically download mov, wmv, and avi files.

I found a torrent for it ages ago, been using it on youtube and other video sites, it may work for apple if their files are in mov.

Never heard of the greasemonkey script.

Also, im not so sure how tight apple is, but you may be able to "save webpage as" and sometimes that downloads the movie file also.

But sorry i cant help you out with the greasemonkey script, hopefully my other suggestions can help you.

I haven't heard of tubehunter ultra but I assume it's a windows app? The reason I was using the greasemonkey script was that I was running firefox on a linux VPS that I accessed via a remote desktop connection. The reason for that was that since the VPS is hosted in a datacenter it has very fast upload and download speeds, much higher than I get from my ISP connection.

I also had avidemux (linux video processing app) on there with a script to batch convert and watermark the vids, so all my video processing was done without having to download to my PC.

I'll probably have a closer look at the greasemonkey script to see if it's obvious what apple have changed to break it, but i'll also check out tubehunter ultra although i would prefer not to have to download and re-upload trailers via my isp connection.

It looks like Apple are checking the useragent to make sure it's quicktime that is trying to access the trailers.


That's ok, I can use the greasemonkey script to get the URL and pass it to something that will fake the useragent for me or I could use this plugin to fake the useragent within firefox:
