Download Streaming Media

A site has streaming audio. It has no download button but it is possible to download the streaming media file by the inspect element method.

Question is, if downloaded this way, will the site find out that the file has been downloaded? If yes, how to go about this?

No, this is not Netflix, YouTube, Soundcloud, etc. This is a private website

Just use Audacity and download the sound coming out from your soundcard.

Thanks a ton! Just out of curiosity, if the file is 3 hours long, for example, will it take 3 hours to get the recording?

Yes, basically you are recording what is going through your sound card. So it needs to actual play the entire 3 hours to get it all.
