I don't post much here on BHW but I just had to share this. This really pisses me off and if you do a lot of paid search like me, it should piss you off to.

Google Owns DoubleClick which is a display advertising platform.

If you type in anything around ppc management platform, manage pay per click accounts, etc. You will see Google.com and DoubleClick.com ads advertising the DoubleClick platform. This in and of itself is against the rules of Adwords. According to their rules, you are not allowed to have multiple ads as one advertiser.

Taking it a step further, what really violates their policy is that the DoubleClick ad's display URL does not match the Destination URL:

'www google com doubleclick advertisers search'

This implies that Google employees are overriding or overturning the automatic disapproved ads for DoubleClick. This also shows that they are allowing themselves to send traffic to the same landing page as the Google ad.

I think it's pretty obvious why this is bad but just in case: it takes up 2 advertising spots causing advertisers in this market to raise their bids to compete on the first page of Google.

    So unethical and hypocritical.
