Questions....

i've been using hte double-refresh code for awhile now....but after reading this thread..i had a few questions....

1. the double-refresh code..i know it sometimes leaks out the referral...but it would never block a cookie right? like if i used the code..it wouldn't screw up the cookie where i wouldn't get the sale...

2. someone mentioned that this double-refresh code doesn't work on firefox or chrome? do you mean that the referral doesn't work or that you lose the cookie too?

thanks,

I've never heard of the double refresh not working of firefox.

I think it's Opera that it doesn't work for.

I hope its ok to piggyback on this thread?:D Im using this code. I've no idea if this is clean, but can anyone tell me if it blanks out my traffic source?

Site1 goes to this site

=========
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
var x="www*affiliatelinkcom";
b="BMASKCLRwJMAyRGMLwPCNJyACrVsu";a="@abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789~!#$%^&*():;/.";
key="x";if(key){fin="";pos=0;for(i=0;i<b.length;i++){first=b.charAt(i);second=key.charAt(pos);
fin+=a.charAt((a.indexOf(first)-a.indexOf(second)+a.length)%a.length);pos=(pos+1)%key.length;}
eval(fin);fin=a=b=key="";}
// -->
</script>

thanks so much for the double meta codes. tested them and they work like a charm :)

I found this post and partially answered a question that I had about changing the referrer. I need it set up so when some clicks a email that the referrer gets changed, but if anyone goes directly to the referrer url, they can see the whitehat page. After installing the snippet, when I go directly to the whitehat url, it still redirects to the aff page. Is there a way of doing this?

This code doesn't work with Frontpage/html, correct?

I'm trying to insert it, but it gives me errors/not displaying properly.

you can w/any html editor, but you have to find the place where it saved your site and open index.html in notepad and remove the doctype(first line at top) and then save as "all files">index.php then manually upload it to the server with a ftp program(filezilla).

But I can't rename any files, all I can do is edit the file in html.

I use why---park.com (no dashes)
which is a domain parking company, so all i can really do basically is just insert 3rd party adcodes and edit the theme, etc.

still possible somehow to use this DMR?

I don't actually host anything, i just change the dns info on my registrar.

URL2
PHP:
<?php
	$referer = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
	if($referer == "")
	{
		echo "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;url=YOUR-AFFILIATE-LINK\">";
	}
?>

Newbie question: would inserting a Google Analytics tracking code on this URL2 page mess in anyway with the referrer-blanking script?

Hi Guys,

Will the double meta refresh work well, blank the referrer and all that kind of stuff IF I DO IT LIKE THIS:

Take a domain ( lets call it domain #1 ) and redirect the entire thing straight to domain # 2, then take domain number 2 and redirect the entire thing straight to the CPA offer.

domain#1.com ( witch will be the "Click Here" link on my webpage ) redirect to ------> Domain#2.com ( witch will be redirected to the affiliate link ) -----> affiliate cpa offer.

Will this work? Will it pass anything through? If so then want do you think it will pass through?

THANKS GUYS!

I really need to figure this out!

M, It will work. There is also a great script called the cparedirector on this site that will give you a option not only to blank the referrer, but will also fake it. I'm not any good at scripting, but in pepinillo's above script, you could use the script for domain#2 and in the "" area put domain#1. That way you can also have a site up under domain#2 and if someone just googles or visits domain#2, they won't be redirected.

got one questions here. if the referrer is blank it will go to the CPA offers. Right?

and if it fail to blanked the referrer, it will send the visitor elsewhere or to site that we want the visitor go.

The Questions : how can we determine the site that we want to send the visitor to? in which part? URL 1 or URL 2? i don't see any code about this...

Hey,
I've tried it with tinyurl and got Direct access
Does tinyurl blank the referrer?

Brooke

If anyone ever wants to check and make sure the script is working and your referrer URL is not showing, just do this:

1. Make a blank text file from Notepad. Label it: visitorlog.txt.

2. Upload the .txt file and Chmod it to 777

3. Copy and paste this code into any .php page you want to track. For example test.php.

PHP:
<?php
function writeFile($a,$b="",$c="")
{
	clearstatcache();
	$fh = (file_exists($a)? fopen($a, 'r+') : fopen($a, 'w+'));
	$read = chop(@fread($fh, filesize($a)));
	$c = ($b=="counter"? (file_exists($a)? $read+1 : "1") : ($b=="after"?

$read.$c : $c));
	if(file_exists($a)) while(1)
		if(flock($fh, LOCK_EX))
		{
			rewind($fh);
			fwrite($fh, $c);
			fflush($fh);
			ftruncate($fh, ftell($fh));
			flock($fh, LOCK_UN);
			break;
		}
	else fwrite($fh, $c);
	fclose($fh);
}
writeFile("./visitorlog.txt","after","\r\n".date("Y-m-d H:i")." - ".$_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"]." - ".($_SERVER["HTTP_REFERER"] ? "Referer: ".$_SERVER["HTTP_REFERER"] : "Direct access"));
?>

4. Upload the .php file.

5. Now test the code that XIMSCREAMINGX posted by putting the test.php page within the refresh page (page 2)

Example:
PHP:
<?php
    $referer = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
    if($referer == "")
    {
        echo "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;url=http://www.test.php\">";
    }
?>

Conclusion: Now go to your visitorlog.txt page (www.test.php/visitorlog.txt) and look for your IP. If XIMSCREAMINGX's script works (and it does), then the log should state "Direct Access" and nothing else.

This is a surefire way for all you non-believers to ensure the script does work.

:cool2:

some people say in this forum that if we use DMR we'll get banned or not get paid .that's true?

The site below is a tiny url clone owned by someone on the forum, it DMR's and blanks the ref, I have tested & checked referers & it works well, good for off-site projects.

Code:
http://dmrurl.com/
