Hi,

I've recently had a penalty due to PBN use on an ecommerce store.

After trying to get the penalty removed, I realised it was pretty much impossible as the majority of links pointing to the site are black hat.

For 1-2 years the site has ranked really well for the niche. It has now dropped about 50% traffic. The site was position 1-3 for main KW and moved to po 10.

I came across the 301 technique (described on diggity site) and put it into action. Basically double 301 to pass 80% of the juice and try to not pass the penalty. I thought it was worth a try!

Original site -> site 1 -> site 2

for example:
brand.com -> brandprams.com -> brandpram.com

Anyhow it has been around 2 weeks now and the site is not ranking for any kw, not even brand terms, however the site indexed by google when searching site:websitename.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Was it a manual penalty? Have you received a message about receiving one in the Search Console?

Double 301 redirect doesn't work any more. I had tried for my website but it pass the penalty. When I search brand name, the domain wasn't display at first spot.

Hi guys,

Thank you for your replies.

My questions isn't really about the penalty (it was manual)

The questions is more: Why is the website not showing on google? This isn't due to the penalty as the original website had position 10 for main KW.

Cheers!

Smdh what are you doing... you only dropped to #10... just build more links.

If you didn’t get a manual penalty (a message from Google, NOT algorithmic)... which, if you only dropped to #10, you didn’t, doing anything besides building more links is the wrong play.

If you did get a manual penalty (not possible if you only dropped to #1) you’re probably going to have to start over or remove a shit ton of links.

Hi,

Again we're not asking for this advice. Trust me we've tried what you are saying.

What we're asking is:
-Why is the website not showing on google?
-Has anyone done a 301 redirect or double redirect?
-How long to begin to see the ranks on the new site?

As has already been said 301 and double 301 does not work anymore.

The reason people are asking you about the penalty is that it’s very very weird to get a manual penalty for unnatural links and still be at #10. I’ve never heard of that. Most people with unnatural links penalty lose around 100% of their google traffic.

Single 301 enough to not pass penalty on new domain
