Dot com for $1.25 only HURRY

Lets make a calculation, you purchase a domain now, build a website and it goes viral and you want to continue it for another year.
So, the total price 1.25$ + 30$ = 31.25$ for two years.
And if you go with namecheap, 10$ + 10$ = 20$(Apprx.)
Hence, I would suggest to better go with namecheap or godaddy as they are more reliable and cheap as well.

My calculation was for people who are looking to create authority or long term websites, if someone is looking for a domain for spammy project which will last no longer than a year, they can enjoy the benefits of the above deal.
 
how hard do they make it to transfer to another domain provider
 
This would be good, if your site is going to be a throw away site that you get rid of after a year. NetworkSolutions is useless if you're building a long term site. They suck you in with great initial prices then rip you off later. It's similar to .infos that are $1.99 in year one, but then jump to $10 in year two.

I think this is just a way to get people through their door (or website). I don't think Network Solutions domain name prices have ever changed since they started selling them 15+ years ago. About people saying that they will refuse you to transfer your domain name, this should not happen! According to ICANN regulations, a domain name registrar cannot refuse to give out a domain name EPP code or to have it transferred (GoDaddy actually just about got in trouble for this a while ago when people were protesting their views by transferring their domain names to someone else and they started to refuse doing it). Although this a good deal, I am a little fussy about having my whois information public so everyone can find out who I am and if I get the private whois information it's an extra $10/yr. So then its $11.25/yr instead of just $1.25/yr and that $11.25 would be about the same price I'd pay if I got it from somewhere else.

You could still use them for domains with backlinks and authority for 301s :)
 
I dont understand why people are worried about the renew fee! Its simple guys, register it for 1.25$ after 3 months transfer it to your best registrant for free LOL
 
How is transferring a domain free? it's mostly gonna cost you around $10
 
Update: it is useless really. They charge for 301 redirect and didnt change my new dns info since 17th (hostgator - usually minutes)
