I have a website that rank number one on Google, if I edit and add more words to target some long tails keywords, will it hurt my rank?

It should not.. just be sure to not over optimize. Keep an eye on keyword density and be natural.

While it's true that it should not affect your current rankings, I've seen it before. I would add more keywords gradually every week or so.

Thanks, but the post then be a huge amount of words!

are u ranking already for a money keyword or just some informative one ?

IMHO it doesn't hurt unless you pass the limit of characters.
The myth says that title and h1 should be less than 60 characters

Why not try to add more articles to target long tails?:) the website already has authority for the subniche so why not make it a little bigger with more articles?:) that really won’t hurt:)

First I add a new article but now I am deleting my new article and edit my old atricle with those information.

if its money keyword I'll not change anything and will not try to target other keywords from the same page. it may sound like a paranoia but google algo is unpredictable when things work just let it be.

So I edit and target some long keywords, let's see what happen after google index it again.
