Dose 404 errors hurt my site rankings ?

    Hello, I wired thing happened. yesterday i found out using webmasters tools that my site have "1426" 404 pages ! all of my site is actually 50 pages. i checked the 404 pages all like this "babiesrus.php?q=bakery-shop-front" dose this hurt my rankings in google ?

    Usually 404 pages do not hurt. But as there are a lot, u should try to find out from where Google found those pages. Maybe somewhere on your site, there are links to those pages.

    It's usually best to redirect them for multiple reasons though. Try to keep up with it as you change urls and make sure to 301 redirect!

    404 error affects on User Experience so the best way is to redirect 404 to similar content/page/post. Multi 301 is not a solution.
