Google includes this quote concerning Doorway Pages
Since a lot of links built on sites are created on a page not linked to from the main navigation these are considered orphan pages, often indexed through a 3rd party source to index this backlink page, are a lot of backlinks created on these orphan pages from parasite sources considered doorway pages or just orphan?
In my opinion it seems profile pages are both orphan and doorway pages.
What is the difference IN YOUR WORDS, not the same stuff online (believe me ive read many articles rehashing the same description of doorway) between a doorway page and orphan page and is it safe to still post backlinks on pages not part of the site's browsable hiearchy (linked from Nav/category pages)?
