I don't think thats the issue. May be you should try to enhance the content rather than just taking the whole thing from chatGPT.

I personally find MADLAD-400 a much better alternative to ChatGPT for translation purposes - both in output and outlay.

ChatGPT is a helpful tool to assist you in reaching your goals, but ultimately, it's up to you to achieve them. No AI tool can fully meet your expectations or guarantee 100% results. That's just my opinion.

I see tons of GPT content ranking and ranking well.
If you give it the prompt "write article about SEO and backlinking" you'll get a piece of shit article that is useless and you'll get the rankings that you deserve as a result.
If you write out a thorough prompt of what you want in the writing style given and using facts, figures and examples that you give, the content will look much more complete. It'll maybe take 10minutes to setup the prompt and another 10mins of checking over but you'll get something that could rank. It sounds like a lot of time, to spend 20 mins to get 1 piece of content but if your 20mins is a complete waste of time that 1 ranked article is a better use of your time.
I'm waffling.

I have seen the quality gets much better when you ask ChatGPT to write originally in the foreign language instead of asking it to translate. It is not very good at translating. You can input the original content then you ask to analyze it. Then you give your preferred prompts to write it in the language you desire.
For example, input English article. then ask it to analyze it. Then ask it to write 8 paragraphs in the topic in German language. This creates good enough content for me.

I think it depends on how you use it. ChatGPT translations might not be great for SEO since they can sound too generic. Deepl is more accurate, so it could help rank better. Try a mix of both and see what works for your sites!
