Video was ranked for some high competition keyowords without sharing it anywhere. The moment I shared it on all those icons you see under the button share on youtube, specifically facebook , the rank disappeared . Just trying to help, and this is just 1 experience . Those shares are actually pretty valuable if they come from the IPs of other ppl , AKA VPN + Incognito mode.
Don't share videos on facebook !!!

Well, but i have come across several publications, saying that shares actually rank youtube videos on Youtube.
Seems like the tides are changing. Thanks for this update. We can actually learn from this.

So you are saying that sharing video's on facebook lowers their rank?
It does not make any sense, if that was true then everybody would share their competitors video on facebook to lower their rank lol

OP what you say doesn't make sense.Youtube put those buttons there to share the video so that Youtube gets more traffic to sell ads.They will shooting them self in the foot if they do that.

That is just crazy, people would share their own content with their friends that is interested in the same thing.

Yes I aways use VidIQ in incognito mode. VidIQ vision for youtube is a chrome extension which gives you a list of all your keywords and tells you for which you're ranked as well as other statistics right next to your video , such as views per hour , estimated earning , places the video has been shared and how many . Just install it and see, it is pretty good.
Yep video was ranked 3rd and 2nd for single keywords, the moments I started sharing and it disappeared . This is a good thing, meaning less money on shares , more money on views

i had similar experience few days ago i was ranking on page 2 on a niche and then i liked my own video and my video pretty much instantly disappeared from rankings... and few days laters its still not ranking anywhere

That's very unlikely to be the case, OP. Your video dropped in SERPs for some other reasons and sharing it at that moment was most probably just a coincidence. Why would YouTube mind you promoting your own video and bringing them traffic. When you share your video, you're promoting them as well.

Using incognito mode doesn't guarantee you're seeing the data without your previous searches etc skewing results. You should use a completely different browser (like Firefox in your case) without signing in to Google and check it again.

I doubt this has anything to do with sharing your video. Just because you do something and then your video gets deranked doesn't mean the thing
you did caused the issue. It's probably the things that you DIDN'T DO that caused it to get deranked.
