Google update will flush your money down to the toilet if you rank a site.

Who make the big money in dropship? > Gurus who sell courses
Who make the big money in SEO? > Link sellers

stop dreaming about ranking a site and make money online. that's the worst dream you can have. I have been there, ranked multiple sites
Instead, focus on building followers base on Social media.

EDIT:
Bring your social media followers to your Telegram channel and you're set for life. forget about newsletters... TG is the name of the game

You can't sell links without traffic. Most buyers know by now that links from 0 traffic sites is useless.
 
Sure, you can sell white label links just as everyone else, same old link farms no matter who you ask. But you still have to build your audience, becoming a fake guru of sorts.

Why bother with social media and telegram when you can just setup a BST on the marketplace?

If there was not people making profit with SEO the link building services wouldn't even exist,

The thing the link building markeplace that's really ruined with fake promises and trash services, worthless links resold for XX times the actual value,
So, you're not really making clean money if you're part of the scammers doing this, it's pretty much as somone is scamming/hacking, only in a legal way,

You can make money in both fields, each has its pros & cons,
If you're really offering a geniune SEO service that actually rank people's websites, then why don't you just do the on-page (or hire someone) & take full profit,
Not applicable in all cases, but surely it will be more profitable & you'll cut all the headaches dealing with clients,

In the other hand, some people prefer & want just to focus in being good at off page, building lists, PBNs, relationships with other webmasters,
And for sure more secure job since you won't be dealing as much with the Google algo & its updates (not as much as a webmaster at least),

So, overall, it's really a matter of preference, experience & talent,
It's pretty much the same as for web developers & designers, both working together to bring a fully working system (website),
You can learn, work on both & make all the work by yourself while keeping the whole cake, or share the work/profits with someone else

People would only buy your links if there are results which typically comes from sites that are themselves ranking.
 
Yes, nowadays without traffic is useless. Most of the buyer analyze and buy some traffic backlinks.

There are still markets where you can do and make good profit, i.e. Germany. Most buyers are just looking for DR and pay $10 per number. Links from a DR 30 site with no traffic easily sell at $300!

That's crazy, probably German language google has a lot of catching up to do.
 
One can sell crap links or good links doesn't matter if you know the right market for those links.
That's why be it automated backlinks, link farms, or quality niche edits/pbn links/guest posts everything sells.

Building and ranking websites still works if one knows to find the right niche and how SEO works in present time.

Buying the right links can burn the pocket that too with a risk of no ranking results.
Still, that's the most popular way to drive organic traffic.
PPC and ads are a better choice, but it also depends on the ppc niche competition.

It is crazy. You can imagine how guys are pushing up DR like hell lol

Same goes with expired domains, even after the recent Google updates. Pure junk is still selling at xxx-xxxx, all based on DR.

On the other hand, Google messed up with its updates. One of my english language site has been hit with a manual penalty (not even AI content on it but restored 1:1 from archive.org), formerly dead sites in german language are suddenly ranking. I have a couple of sites with only awin products loaded into woocommerce and suddenly this duplicate and outdated content is ranking and generating revenue. Too funny.
