Long story short.. had the best buddy ever whom I wanted to help make some money.

Too much trust and I revealed everything to him while guiding how he can make money out of SEO doing his own stuff.

During the COVID times I migrated to another country and he decided to cut off contact, copy everything I do, reach out to all my clients and basically become my key competitor in my niche.

Whenever I publish new stuff on my website, after a few hours it appears on his.

He's now making heaps of money, though I know it will not last long. Apparently he's to dumb come up with anything on his own, and yet uses all my black hat techniques which will not last for years.

So a big lesson learned and I lost trust for people in 99%.

At the end of the day it's just me to blame as I was so naive to disclose all my money making secrets to somebody else.

Just curious what would you guys in my situation?

I'm trying to learn to live with it and carry this heavy burden, yet have some strong desire of a revenge

Move on.
Why submerge yourself in endless hate? Why do you have to carry it as a burden?
Think of it as a lesson learnt.
You said it yourself, it won't last long, so let them enjoy whatever they have and you continue to polish your techniques and methods.
It's not the end of the world, backstabbers are everywhere, and karma is a bitch, she will come around.

Post your website here and tell your income and you will see how people are sharks in this world :D

Friends are good when you don't have a business relation at all with them.

Put business inside the relation, and 5 years later I guarantee 99% of the time, you will not have this friend anymore :D

I've got two real friends, and trust me, am very grateful.

What to do?
Keep focus on your job, as much as possible, work on yourself every day, take care of your mind and physical health.
Forget about what happened and your friend by being active at things above.

Life will give you better when you deserve better.


When it comes to feelings, fire will burn out anyway, use it to shape something strong before the cool off process is taking place.
Because that's what you get in the end.
 
never mix friendship with $$ keep them separate and help each other in their own respectful fields, it's not fruitloops world, keep your business techniques as secret as possible especially your success! When people think you earn money easily and keeps wanting to find your loopholes that's when you gotta watch out.
 
Your story is pretty common, especially when you are dealing with high competition niches
 
Don't Focus on him - Focus on your work .
You learnead Him so you are deffinetly better than him .
Guys Who just Copy , Eventually they fall and theyr businesses fall down too .
Success Will be The key here .
Succed and you'll see that he will come back to you
 
This is some really good advice here. Nothing new but sometimes it helps to read it again. And again. And again. The lure to make business with friends is just too big.
