Don't know what to do

okay so the issue is I have this site that I launched two months ago. The rankings are stable but I have one problem- I can barely get on page two of google. The keyword is considered medium-high difficulty (more on the medium side though). I will outline the different services I used to try and bring it to page one over a two month period. Currently I am in position #24.

Here are the services I have used:

1. social bookmarking to about 500 websites
2. 6 web 2.0 properties supported by a sb blast and a wiki blast
3. about 100 web 2.0 - high pr domains reinforced by a couple thousand social bookmarks
4. 400 SB blog comments to 3 inner urls - high pr but high obl
5. 1000 wiki blast of spun content which was then reinforced with more wiki links.

Right now I am really lost as I have read about anchor text diversity, and using web 2.0s but it seems that they have no effect on the site. I am on the same position the whole time and bouncing up or down about 5 spots between the bottom of page 2 and page 3. Anchor text have consisted of the raw url, generic words such as click here and the keywords I am trying to rank for.Apart from the direct sb and wiki blast (which is not really that extreme- I cannot see how I have done anything wrong. Anyone want to help this seo beginner out?

Should I keep working on this site or just let it sit and move onto something with less difficulty?

Hi. Have you checked your website itself? How well is it optimised for thekeyword? What is your domain extension? ... the easiest is to type your domain here. you can't get decent help from a doctor over the phone - have to visit him in person

You are right but I am just looking for opinions and do not want to display my website publicly on the forums.

I dont think that I have anything wrong with the site but the only reason that I can think of why I am not ranking is because my competition consists mainly of high pr and aged domains. There is one website on the first page which only has 5 pages of content but is an aged pr domain with few backlinks.
