some people only see the color of ones skin, working in a prison, where it is heavily divided amongst races, gives you a constant reminder that racism is still alive and well.

I disagree...This thread is just awesome...This proves that we all are born nude and have red colored blood flowing in our veins and nationality or skin complexion cant separate us........

Now I really feel relax that if something happens on 2012 we all will stay together......................

Awesome thread. Really glad to see it because I have seen racist comments here before.
That's what makes this thread UN dull. From now on those posters will be outed.
 
Yea this is the lounge man, this is where I go when I've worked enough for the day and I want to talk about some inane stuff;)

Racism sucks, but it's very naive view in my opinion. I talk to some ppl and the actually think that a particular people from a particular country and like bad or something, it's ridiculous!

Of course different countries have different cultures, beliefs etc but I think racism comes about when people are narrow minded and don't want to believe in anyone else - it's like living in your own little world and not wanting to learn from anyone else.

Anyway, to be fair I havnt seen any racism on bhw anyway:)
 
I have an aunt who is Japanese, a cousin who was adopted from Romania, had a black brother-in-law (sadly, he is now deceased. Great guy) which gave me a beautiful mixed-race niece. My grandfather on my mother's side was 100% Native American (Blackfoot), and I married a German. (Her parents were immigrants as children, they left Germany when Hitler was rising to power in the early 1930s.) With my quite diverse family, I see first-hand just how stupid and pointless racism is.

Humans are humans. Where we are from, or the color of our skin, is completely pointless. It is your heart, brain, and attitude towards others that makes all the difference.
 
Racism is definitely wrong. It's appalling that some people in the world still judge people by their ethnicity or the color of their skin.

However, I believe there are some people who pull out the racism card too quickly just because they read a comment they don't like. Just because someone makes a comment about a particular race, doesn't mean they are racist. The comments made must be taken in context.
