As I have gotten further along in the PBN building, I am seeing some okay success and rankings. My question is based more around the domains that I find through DomCop though. I know "expired" domains are worse than auction domains, and you want to try and catch them before they expire. This seems to be getting more and more difficult - is DomCop still the best way to find domains for our PBNs?

No, expired domains are already expired and they are free to be registered. Pending delete are the domains that you might want to catch.

Domcop merely lists the auction/expired/pending delete domains with their metrics and allows you to filter them. Those lists however can be found anywhere.

DomCop domains are the ones that have "expired" and can be registered by anyone for $10 or whatever. On the other hand, auctions are the real deal but they are also hella expensive and the competition is seriously insane.

I just dropped $2000 on a domain from GoDaddy auctions which had an okay-ish backlink profile. I bought that domain for its brandable name, though.

If you have a low budget, don't even bother with auctions.

Hey whats your business model? you create a site with that brandable domain and then sell it?

No, I bought this domain was for an offline business coz it had an extremely brandable domain name. Generally I don't use expired domains for SEO purposes.

Where does one go, to check out these auctions. I found some domain auctions on google, but is there any popular ones around here
